About HackFirstAid Household

Built by security professionals — for the people they go home to.

Security buyers need proof, not slogans. Here's plainly who's behind HackFirstAid Household, how the moving parts actually work, and what we will and will not do with your family's data.

Who's behind it

HackFirstAid Household is part of the HackFirstAid family — the same team behind about.hackfirstaid.com. We've spent careers in offensive security, incident response, and security-product engineering. We built Household because the people we love don't have a security team — and the consumer "family safety" market is mostly built to upsell and resell their data.

How it works under the hood

Breach monitoring

Each household email is checked against the largest public breach database on a cadence that matches your plan. New matches trigger an in-app alert with a tailored next step, not a panic email.

Family security score

A live score per member, computed from MFA status, breach exposure, hardening tasks, and device hygiene. It tells everyone where to focus next.

First Aid playbooks

When something goes wrong, a calm step-by-step playbook walks you through containment and recovery. Plus and Complete escalate to a real specialist who handles the heavy lifting.

Cyber Heroes for kids

Short, age-appropriate lessons in a light game shell. Kids learn to spot scams and report problems — the single biggest safety lever a parent has.

What we will (and won't) do with your data

No tracking pixels, no ad networks, no resale.

We use Plausible (privacy-friendly, no cookies) for product analytics. We do not embed Google Analytics, Meta pixel, or any ad-tech tracker.

Minors minimized.

Kid accounts are deliberately thin — we collect the minimum to run the service, never their device contents or message history.

Public tools store nothing.

The free scam-check and breach-check run server-side, return the result, and never persist what you pasted or which email you checked.

Your data isn't a product.

We make money from subscriptions. That's the entire business model. We're not selling, syndicating, or training third-party models on your household's data.

Live trust signals

Talk is cheap. These are the public-facing places you can verify we're running:

System status

Live uptime for each service.

Monthly safety brief

What's circulating and what to do about it.

Customer stories

The quotes on our home and plans pages are early-customer feedback shown with initials only, at each family's request. Named case studies and partner attestations will land here as they're cleared.
